On September 1, 1978, Chalanbil Museum was temporarily established in Khubjeepur village of Garudaspur police station as a result of the efforts of some conscious social workers of Chalanbil region. This museum, built with various historical artifacts of Chalanbil, came under the purview of the Directorate of Archeology on July 2, 1989. Among the notable archaeological artifacts in the Chalanbil Museum are Vishnu and Matrika idols, various research books, hard stone Suryadevs, postage stamps, coins of 90 countries, pots, rocks and terracottas of different regimes.
In addition, there are two Koran Sharifs written by King Alamgir and Emperor Nasiruddin, 8 complete and 7 partial Koran Sharifs written on flat paper about 400 years old, 15 Hadith Sharifs and 257 different religious books.
Schedule of Chalanbil Museum :
Chalanbil Museum is open to all in summer from 10 am to 6 pm and in winter from 9 am to 5 pm. The museum is closed every Sunday and opens from 2 pm on Mondays. And every day from 1 pm to 1.30 pm there is a temporary break in the museum.
How to go
From Dhaka you can take a bus to Nator bus stand and from there you can hire an auto rickshaw to go directly to Chalanbil Museum.
