Two temples are located side by side in Nalia village of Jamalpur union in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari district. And this temple is called Jor Bangla Mandir. While one temple has its spire, the spire of the other temple is not left. In 1655, King Sitaram Raya of Orissa established a pair of Bengali temples and idols in Gauriya style. Later, Shri Krishna Rama Chakraborty came to Nalia village at the request of Raja Sitaram Roy and took charge of guarding the Deva temple and idols.
How to go
From Dhaka’s Gabtali to Rabeya, Hanif Enterprise, Rajbari Transport, Saptavarna, Saudia bus, crossing the Padma Bridge and going to Rajbari costs Tk 500 per person. Apart from this, Rajbari can be reached by Sundarban Express, Madhumati Express and Benapole Express trains from Dhaka Kamalapur railway station. Train fare will be 340 to 782 taka per seat.
Cars are available from Rajbari to Baliakandi or directly to Jor Bangla Mandir. Jor Bangla Mandir is only 14 km from Baliakandi by road. From Baliakandi bus stand, you can take easy bike, bus or any local transport to go to Jor Bangla Mandir located at Naliagram in Jamalpur Union. Besides, one can easily go to Jor Bangla Temple from Madhukhali Upazila of Faridpur.
