Haringhata Tourist Center

You can visit the Haringhata Tourist Spot located in South Barguna district to be fascinated by the natural forest and the sea. This habitat of unknown trees and wildlife is a part of the Sundarbans. The Baleshwar, Bishkhali and Payra rivers flowing near the Haringhata forest join the Bay of Bengal. Apart from the mechanical noise, you can meet deer, monkeys, pigs and other wild animals in the nature of the birds chirping. There is a watch tower in this forest to enjoy the wonderful natural beauty.
You can reach the river by taking a road through the green forest. Tourists can explore the forest by boat. You can go to the estuary of three rivers to soak in the sea water or you can go to the Sundarbans by crossing the Baleshwar river. Haringhata tourist center also has good facilities for organizing picnics.
Kuakata beach is a two to three hour drive from Haringhata tourist center.

How to go

Direct bus fare from Dhaka Gabtali to Patharghata is Tk 700-750 per person. If you want, you can also board the launch going to Barguna or Barisal. An hourly bus leaves for Patharghata from Barisal. Fare from Barisal to Patharghata is 180 Tk. If traveling by Bargunar launch, you can get down from the launch at Kakchira Ghat and rent a motorbike to go to Patharghata easily. It takes 30 minutes to ride a bike from Patharghata to Haringhata. Besides, the reserve to Haringhata is available in Barguna town.
