Independence Museum

In order to inform the young generation about the true history of the Great War of Independence, Independence Museum (Shadhinota Jadughor) has been established at Banglabazar area of ​​Bhola under the initiative of Tofail Ahmed Trustee Board. Renowned architect Ferdous Ahmed designed this attractive recreation center in Bhola built on an area of ​​about an acre. The complete history of anti-British movement, language movement of 52, United Front election of 54, student movement of 62, six points of 66, popular uprising of 69, election of 70 and the great liberation war of 71 has been preserved in the Independence Museum. In addition, there is an opportunity to learn about the history of Bangladesh by watching informational videos and rare photo collections.
On the first floor of the Independence Museum, there is a series of history of various historical events including Partition of Bengal, Anti-British movement, Partition of the country and 52 language movement. The second floor contains the history of Bangladesh’s freedom struggle from the language movement of 1952 to December 16, 1971. And on the third floor there is the history of various movements and struggles after independence. Apart from this, there is the story of the struggling life of freedom fighter Tofail Ahmed, a close companion of the father of the nation, who witnessed all the democratic movements and achievements of Bangladesh.

Bhola can be reached by road and sea. From Dhaka’s Sadarghat launch terminal MV Bhola, MV Saadat, MV Karnaphuli, MV Farhan etc. launch to Bhola. If you want to go to Bhola by road, you have to come from Dhaka to Lakshmipur first. Sea-Truck departs from Lakshmipur at 12 noon daily for Bhola.
