Kumira Ghat

The name of the traditional union of Sitakunda Upazila is Kumira. Here is the most famous Kumira-Sandeep Ferry Ghat or Kumira Ghat for going to Sandeep from Chittagong. Recently, a one-kilometer-long jetty has been constructed for the convenience of ferry passengers, which the locals know as Kumira-Sandwip Ferry Ghat Bridge, Ghatghar Bridge Kumira Bridge, etc.

Running inland from the shore, the jetty at Drishtanandan will give the illusion of being in the middle of the sea once you reach the bridge’s western end. If the sky is clear, the towering hills of Sitakunda can be seen from here. The experience of standing on the sea and looking at the mountains is amazing in one word. From Kumira Bridge, you can’t miss the sight of huge ships. Here you can see the evening fishing of fishermen returning to the wharf, the arrival-departure of passengers, the fishing village, and the work of the sheep yard workers.
If you want to go deeper into the ocean or see the huge ships up close, you can hire a boat. Used for fishing so boats are not always available. However, on closed days, the pressure of visitors is high, so sufficient boats are kept at the wharf. To board these boats, the fare is 15 to 20 taka per person.
Besides, you can cross the Sandwip channel and go to Sandwip in 30 minutes by renting a speedboat from Kumira Ghat for Tk 250-300 per person. 200-250 Tk reserve CNG can be taken from Sandwip Ghat to the main town of Sandwip. If you love adventure, crossing this channel by speedboat will be etched in your mind for a long time.
