Mohamaya Lake

Mohamaya Lake (Mohamaya Lake) located in Mirsrai, Chittagong is one of the artificial heart of Bangladesh. Mahamaya Lake is spread over an area of ​​11 square kilometers at the foot of the hill just two kilometers away from Thakurdighi Bazar in Durgapur Union of Mirsarai. Apart from the gurgling water of the lake and the mithali of the mountains, there are mountain caves, rubber dams and endlessly beautiful springs. Apart from going around the lake by boat, you can soak your body and mind in the cool water of the spring coming down the hill. Mahamaya Lake has facilities for kayaking and overnight camping in tents if desired. Part of the water of Mahamaya Lake under the control of Bangladesh Water Development Board is used for irrigation in the surrounding areas.

How to go

Mahamaya Lake from Dhaka: By bus from Dhaka: You can take any bus to Chittagong from any part of Dhaka to Thakurdighi Bazaar in Mirsrai. Non AC bus fare for S Alam, Shyamli, Saudia, Unique, Hanif, Eagle, Ena etc. is Tk 450-500. Among AC buses, Greenline, Saudia, Sohag, TR bus fare is 1000-1200 Tk. Take the bus of your choice and get down at Thakurdighi Bazar before Mirsarai. Besides, from Syedabad bus stand, take Feni (fare 320 taka) from Syedabad bus stand and take a local bus for 30-50 taka to go to Thakurdighi Bazar before Mirsarai.
From Thakurdighi, you can go to the main gate of Mahamaya Ecopark for a CNG fare of Tk 20 per person. Or reserve CNG (Rent 80-150 Taka) and come to Mahamaya Eco Park. Mahamaya Lake is located inside this Eco Park.
By train from Dhaka: Any intercity train from Dhaka to Chittagong should alight at Feni station. Train fare is Tk 250-1035 per person depending on the class. From Feni station you have to go to Feni Mohipal bus stand by rickshaw/auto for Tk 10-15. From there you have to go down to Thakurdighi Bazar before Mirsarai by local bus for a fare of 30-40 taka. Or you can take mail train for 90-120 taka and get down at ‘Chinki Astana’ station. From there you can go to Thakurdighi by Auto/Laguna/CNG for 20-25 taka. From Thakurdighi you can go to Mahamaya Ecopark for 15-20 taka CNG per person. At its main gate, or by reserving CNG (Rent 80-120), Mahamaya Eco Park is located inside Mahamaya Lake.
