Malnicherra Tea Garden located in Sylhet district of Bangladesh is the largest and first established tea garden in the subcontinent. This garden started in 1849 by Lord Hardson on an area of 1500 acres. Currently the tea garden is managed under private supervision but is well known as a favorite place for tourists to have a good time.
To witness the pristine, exquisite beauty of tea gardens, you must visit Malnichara Tea Gardens, a short distance from Sylhet International Airport. However, it is better to take permission from the authorities before entering the garden to avoid unwanted complications. Currently oranges and rubber are cultivated here along with tea.
How to go
You can easily go to Malnichhara tea garden by hiring a rickshaw, autorickshaw or CNG from any part of Sylhet city. It takes 10 minutes by CNG and 25 minutes by rickshaw from Ambarkhana point.
