The local name of Sangrampunji Jharna is Mayabi Jharna. It takes only 15 to 20 minutes from Jaflong Zero Point to reach Mayavi Jharna on the Indian border. Bangladeshis can visit Songrampunji Waterfall under the guard of BSF. The water of the spring has accumulated down the mountain and has formed like a pond. This fountain has total three steps. Sylhet to Jaflong
Jaflong can be reached by almost all types of vehicles from Sylhet. To go by local bus you have to go to Shivganj city from there the fare is 80 taka per person. You can go to Jaflong by CNG or autorickshaw for Tk 1200 to Tk 2000. If you reserve the microbus to and fro, you will need 3000 to 5000 taka for the whole day. Jaflong can be done from any autorickshaw or CNG stand in Sylhet city. If you go in a group, it is better to reserve a microbus, then you can get down and explore other places around. Before fixing the car, bargain well and discuss with the driver what you want to see.
Sangrampunji Jharna from Jaflong
From Jaflong zero point to Mayavi Jharna you have to take a boat across the river and walk for 10 minutes. During the monsoon season, you can go very close to the waterfall by boat. It will take 10-20 taka per person to cross the river by boat in winter. To go to the fountain during monsoons, the boat rental will be Tk 30-50 per person.
