Sitakunda Ecopark has been developed in the evergreen forest area of Chandranath Rirjav Forest in Sitakunda Upazila of Chittagong Hill Tracts. A unique natural feature adorning this Sitakunda Ecopark is called Sohosrodhara Waterfall. Although there is very little water in this spring throughout the year, Sahasradhara Jharna can be seen in its full form during the monsoon season. There is another waterfall called Suptadhara Jharna very close to Sahasradhara Jharna. Therefore, every day hundreds of visitors from different parts of the country flock to Sitakunda Ecopark to enjoy the beauty of this waterfall.
How to go
Sitakund by bus from Dhaka: You can go to Sitakund by any bus from Syedabad, Fakirapool, Mohakhali in Dhaka by any bus bound for Chittagong. Non-AC bus fare for S Alam, Shyamli, Saudia, Unique, Hanif, Eagle, Ena, etc. is Tk 420-480. Among AC buses Greenline, Saudia, Sohag, and TR these bus fares are 800-1100 Tk.
Dhaka to Sitakund by train: Any intercity train from Dhaka to Chittagong should alight at Feni station. The train fare will be Tk 265-909 per person depending on the class. From Feni station, you have to go to Feni Mohipal bus stand by rickshaw/auto for Tk 10-15. From there you can go to Sitakund by local bus for Tk 50-80.
Chittagong to Sitakunda: CNG or autorickshaw reserve from Chittagong to Sitakunda will cost 250 to 300 taka. If you want to go by bus, you have to go to Alankar, AK Khan Mor, or Kadmatoli in Chittagong City. You can go to Sitakunda by local bus at a fare of 40-80 taka.
It would be wise to hire CNG for the whole day from Sitakunda. In that case, it may cost 1000 to 1200 taka. If you hire CNG for the whole day, you can save a lot of time visiting Eco Park. And in the rest of the time you can see some more waterfalls and jhiri trails of Sitakunda and Mirsrai area.
