Lobhachara is a clear water river at the foot of Khasia-Jainta hills bordering the northeastern border of Kanighat upazila of Sylhet. The green hills and the clear water of Lobhachara have given a different dimension to the environment here. Along with this, there is the Lovachara tea plantation started during the British period, the old suspension bridge built in 1925 and Khasia village. The beauty of mountains, rivers and blue sky has been given a natural beauty by the beauty of Ananya Lobhachara.
The activities of the workers in Lovachara river to extract stones is worth seeing. Apart from tea gardens and hanging bridges, Lovachara also has natural lakes and springs, Khasia Palli, Miraping Shahar shrine, antiquities of Mughal kings and queens, ancient dighis, stone quarries and social forestry of the forest department. How to go
To go Lovachara you have to go Sylhet first. then from Sylhet you have to go to Kanaighat upazila Sadar. Kanaighat can be reached by CNG, autorickshaw and bus. The bus fare from Sylhet to Kanaighat is Tk 60-70 per person, and CNG and autorickshaw fare is Tk 100 per person. Taking CNG reserve may cost 500 to 700 taka.
Lobhachara, 9 km from Kanighat, can be reached by road and river. It is best to take the river route to avoid the pitfalls of semi-dirt roads. You can go to Lobhachara from Kanighat boat wharf for 30-50 taka per person. If you want to take reserve, the boat rental will cost 800-1000 rupees.
