Jaflong is known as the daughter of nature. Jaflong is one of the favorite places to visit in Sylhet district. Goainghat upazila of Sylhet is bordering India’s Meghalaya border, Jaflong is decorated with nature’s gifts. The crystal clear water flow of Piane River flowing over the rocks, the hanging Dauki bridge, the play of white clouds on the high mountains make Jaflong unique. Jaflong manifests a different appearance in each season, which keeps tourists interested in visiting it throughout the year.
How to go
The distance from Sylhet to Jaflong is about 60 km. It will take about one and half hour to 2 hours to go directly from Sylhet to Jaflong. You can go to Jaflong by bus, CNG, Laguna or microbus. Jaflong bound bus departs from Kadmatoli. Local bus fare is Tk 70 per person and gatelock non-stop bus fare is Tk 100. If you want at your convenience, you can also board the bus from Sobhanighat in Sylhet city. Apart from buses, there are local Laguna services to Jaflong.
If you want to go by reserve vehicle, you will get CNG, Laguna or Microbus from in front of Bandarbazar Shishu Park. Also, you will get vehicles to reserve from almost all places in Sylhet. Maximum 5 people can sit in CNG, 10 people in Laguna and according to the seats of microbus.
CNG fare for the whole day including going to Jaflong will be Tk 1200 to Tk 1500, Laguna Tk 2000-2500 and microbus reserve Tk 3000 to Tk 5000. It is better to reserve a car if you are traveling together and can easily visit other places of interest en route. Negotiate what you want to see before fixing the car.
And if you are going for a picnic or a family trip, you can go directly to Jaflong by bus or private car. At present the road to Jaflong is quite good. The road to Jaflong Zero Point via Guchchgram BGB Camp is more popular than going to Mamar Bazar.
