The Muhuri Project

Muhuri Project, the second largest irrigation project in Bangladesh, is located in Sonagazi Upazila of Feni. The Muhuri Project is also well-known nationwide as the first wind power plant in Bangladesh and the largest fishing zone built around the Muhuri Irrigation Project. The work of the Muhuri Irrigation Project started in the financial year 1977-78 but in the financial year 1985-86, the construction of the Ari Dam to control the water flow of Feni, Muhuri, and Kalidas Pahalia rivers was completed. An area of ​​20,194 hectares comes under direct irrigation facilities as a result of the Muhuri project.
In the last two and a half decades, picnic spots and recreation centers have been built around the Muhuri project. Tourists from different parts of the country come to have a pleasant time in the Muhuri project full of natural beauty.

How to go

From Feni Lalpol, you can take Millat, Farabi Transport, Joy, and Pledge Paribahan buses to Sonagazi Upazila Sadar and from there you can hire CNG and go to the Muhuri Project. Or you can take a bus from Sonagazi Upazila Sadar to Badamtali and hire a rickshaw to reach the Muhuri project.
