The historic Laldighi Nine Dome Mosque is located in Laldighi area of Gopinathpur union, about 10 km west of Badarganj upazila city of Rangpur. This mosque was discovered during the British rule while in the Indian subcontinent. Later the local residents cleaned the mosque and made it usable. As there is no inscription on the mosque, no definite information is known about the construction period of Laldighi Mosque. But according to archaeologists, this mosque was built during the British rule. Many people believe that the Laldighi Mosque was built in 1212 due to its resemblance to the late Mughal era architecture. It is customary among the local people that mosques and mosque ponds have been dug overnight. A square Laldighi built on a 1 meter high altar is not a dome The mosque has 9 domes.
