Ramsagar Dighi (Ramsagar Dighi) is the largest man-made dighi of Bangladesh located in Tezpur village of Dinajpur district. The area of Ramsagar Dighi is about 4,37,492 square meters and the average depth is about 10 meters. There is a ghat on the west bank of Dighi. Ramsagar Dighi is located about 7 km from Dinajpur city. A beautiful Ramsagar National Park (Ramsagar National Park) has been developed around the Ramsagar Dighi. Besides, camping by Ramsagar is a very attractive thing to enjoy the beauty of full moon. According to history, sometime before the Palashi war, King Ramnath dug this lake to meet the water needs of the neighboring villages. The lake came to be known as Ramsagar Dighi after the name of King Ramnath. The lush green Ramsagar lake is currently under the supervision of the tourism department. Ramsagar has built a modern rest house to beautify the lake and make it attractive to tourists.
How to go
There is a possibility to go to Dinajpur from Dhaka by bus and train. Dinajpur bound buses usually depart from Dhaka’s Gabtali and Kalyanpur. Bus services include Nabeel Paribahan, SR Travels (02-8013793, 8019312), SA Paribahan (9332052), Hanif Enterprises (8013714, 8015368), Kaya Paribahan (9000812), Shyamoli Paribahan (900331) etc. Non-AC and AC bus fares are Tk 800 to Tk 1500 depending on the standard. Besides, several buses leave from Uttara in the capital for Dinajpur. Inter-city express train from Kamalapur railway station in Dhaka leaves for Dinajpur at 8 pm. Intercity train Ekta Express departs from Dhaka at 10:15 AM. And the Panchagarh Express train leaves Dhaka at 11:30 PM. It takes 575 to 1,978 taka to buy tickets for these trains depending on the category. It takes 30 to 40 minutes to reach Ramsagar National Park by taking an autorickshaw from Dinajpur.
