Boro Station

Silver Hilsa has given Chandpur the fame of ‘Home of Hilsa’. Since it is possible to go from Dhaka in a day and come back in the same day, every day many tourists flock to the various sightseeing places in Chandpur to taste the fresh hilsa and enjoy the wonderful natural beauty. And it is difficult to find people who have not come to Boro Station to visit Chandpur. The confluence of three rivers Padma, Meghna, and Dakatiya is also known as Molehead. The view of the sunset at the mouth of the three rivers, the small boats floating, and the sound of the water lapping at the banks of the river is enough to remember for a lifetime.
During the great liberation war of 1971, many freedom fighters were brutally killed in the torture cell operated by the Pakistani invaders in this big station area. A sculpture named ‘Raktadhara’ has been constructed here to commemorate the martyred freedom fighters.
Besides, trawlers, speedboats, or dinghies can be hired to explore the estuaries of the three rivers. Near the big station area, there is a wholesale market of hilsa ‘Mach Ghat’ at walking distance. Hilsa caught by fishermen is processed at this fish ghat.
