If you want to enjoy the beautiful nature sitting on the green grass carpet on both sides and the river on both sides, you can visit China Dam located in Sirajganj district. Bangladesh Water Development Board constructed this dam on the bank of Yamuna river just 2 km away from Sirajganj district town. Another name of China Dam is Crossbar-3. From the main gate of the dam to a depth of 2 km of the Yamuna River, a black pitched road runs over the dam. And you can go to the end of the dam along this road.
Every day many visitors come to visit China Dam. The beautiful natural surroundings created by the deep mithali of the river with the infinite sky, the boat trip and the small town of Sirajganj which is a short distance away draw the visitors with a strange magic. And it will be best if you go during the rainy season.
How to go
Non-AC buses of Avi Classic and SI Company ply from Mohakhali Bus Stand in Dhaka at regular intervals. From Mirpur number 2, Dhaka line and AC bus of SI company depart for Sirajganj. AC/Non-AC buses will cost 500 to 1300 taka per person. Apart from Mahakhali or Mirpur 2 buses, you can take any North Bengal bound bus and get off at Sirajganj Road or Koddar intersection and go to China Badh.
And if you want to travel by train from Dhaka, you must get down at Captain Mansoor Ali station. You can take CNG from Mansoor Ali Station to Sirajganj City Bazar Station and hire a rickshaw to go to China Dam.
It is important to remember that no bus departs from Sirajganj city after 7 pm for Dhaka. But the turning point
can return by other buses to Dhaka but in this case any unexpected risks should be kept in mind.
It is possible to visit the China Dam in one day from Dhaka. But for this, leave as soon as possible in the morning.
