Dublia Fair is one of the manifestations of the glory and tradition of local residents in Dublia village of Pabna Sadar Upazila. Which is one of the main sources of entertainment for the people of Dublia. According to history, boats were used as a means of transportation in Dublia, which was famous for trade and commerce during monsoons. And then this fair was born mainly around boating, one of the sources of rural entertainment.
At Dublia Mela, now known as an industrial and commercial fair, various entertainment events are arranged. Every year during Durga Puja, a month-long fair is organized on the premises of Dublia High School and Haji Jasim Uddin Degree College. Dublia Mela offers a wide range of daily items including jute products, leather goods, ceramics, handicrafts, winter clothes, household furniture and electronics.
Apart from this, there are various types of entertainment for children and teenagers, including trains, swings, magic shows, boats and swings. A large number of buyers and visitors from various districts in and around Pabna flock to this traditional Dublia fair.
How to go
From Dhaka’s Kalyanpur, Abdullahpur and Gabtali you can go to Pabna by Sarkar Travels, Pabna Express, Al Hamra Paribahan, Shahjadpur Travels and Shyamoli Paribahan buses. The fare will be Tk 500 to Tk 900 depending on the bus. And from Kamalapur railway station, take the intercity train to South Bengal and get off at Ishwardi Junction, and from there you can go to Pabna district headquarters by bus or CNG. You can go to Dublia village which is 15 km away from Pabna district headquarter by local transport like CNG and rickshaw.
