Hatirjhil (Hatirjhil) is an area of the capital Dhaka, which has gained quite a reputation as a pleasant entertainment center for the entertainment of the city dwellers. History of naming Hatirjheel
It is known from history that the name elephant has been associated with all the roads through which elephants used to go from Dhaka’s Pilkhana to Begunbari Jheel. Like Elephant Road, Hatirpool. And this lake is called Hatirjheel for bathing elephants.
Boat trip to Hatirjheel
The passenger waterbus has been launched in Hatirjheel’s tottering waters. On one hand it offers pleasant travel experience, on the other hand it is easy to go to Kawran Bazar from Gulshan. Currently 5 waterbuses have a capacity of 45 passengers each.
Circular Bus Service of Hatirjheel
Circular bus service has been launched in Hatirjheel where passengers can sit face to face in 32 to 46 seater buses. The bus starts from FDC Kawran Bazar via Rampura, Banashree and ends at the starting point. Round bus service takes only 30 taka to travel around Hatirjheel.
Musical Dancing Fountain
Colorful water fountains or musical dancing fountains have been installed in Hatirjheel’s decoration. These fountains are controlled to the beat of music and are accompanied by dazzling lights. The musical dancing fountain is activated for 15 minutes at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm.
How to go
Hatirjheel can be reached by bus or CNG from any part of Dhaka. Generally, buses going towards Motijheel, Gulistan, or Saydabad via Rampura or Mogbazar should pass by Hatirjheel.
