Kherua Mosque

Kherua Mosque, one of the archeological monuments of Bangladesh, is located in Khaspkar Tola area of ​​Sherpur Upazila of Bogra District. Mirza Murad Khan Kakshal, son of Jawahar Ali Kakshal, built the Kherua Mosque in 1582. However, no exact history is known about the naming of the mosque.
Kherua Masjid, built in a mix of Sultanate and Mughal architecture, is about 430 years old and survives today due to its wide walls and minaret base. Built on 1.81 m wide red brick walls made of lime-surki, the roof has three semi-circular domes. Externally, the length of the mosque is 17.27 meters and the width is 7.42 meters. The mosque has three arched doors on the eastern wall and one each on the north-south wall. And the western wall has three elaborate arches.
The arches of the Kherua Mosque are lined with arched panels below the bow-like cornice. Numerical diversity is created through brick layouts and vertical panels. The minaret, dome and varied brickwork and flower-creeper-leaf designs give the whole mosque a special uniqueness. In front of Kherua Mosque. The distance of Kherua mosque from Bogra district city is about 25 km and the distance from Sherpur upazila headquarters is only 1 km. You can go by rickshaw, van or CNG from Sherpur Sadar Upazila Sadar.
