The traditional Misripara Seema Buddha Temple is located in front of the ancient well of Kuakata in Patuakhali district. Kuakata is about 8 km from the beach. The meditating Buddha statue made of ancient octahedral metal weighing 37 manas is believed to be the largest in the subcontinent. Besides, the most Rakhine villages are located near this temple. Where there is an opportunity to get acquainted with the way of life of this small ethnic group.
How to go
Kuakata can be reached by river and road from the capital Dhaka. From Dhaka’s Sadarghat launch terminal, MV Parabat, MV Saikat, MV Sundarban etc. can be reached by the launch of Patuakhali and from there you can go to Kuakata by bus. And if you want to go by bus, you can directly go to Kuakata via Padma Bridge by Sakura Paribahan, Shyamoli Ena R, Greenline, Euro Coach, Hanif, TR Travels, Islam Paribahan buses from Dhaka’s Gabtali or Syedabad bus terminal. You can go to this temple by bike or easy bike from Kuakata.
