Modhumoti Baor

Modhumoti Baor is located 10 km east of Kashiani Upazila of Gopalganj district. Location of Madhumati Baor across Fukra, Dhankora, Ratil, Chapta, Ghonapara, Paranpur, Suchail, Tarail, Pangkhar Char and Charbhatpara Mauza of Kashiani Upazila. In the late 1970s, the course of the Madhumati river changed and two bends were formed at a distance of 1.5 km in either direction. At the mouth of a bend, silt accumulates and the upstream mouth is closed to form a reservoir. And this reservoir is known as Madhumati Baord.
About 162 hectares of Madhumati Baord is decorated in different forms depending on the season. 6 km in dry season
Length and width of 600 feet, this river becomes about 8 km length and width of 1200 feet river during monsoon.

How to go

By road, from Gabtali or Sayedabad in Dhaka, you can take Palash, Imad, Tungipara Express, Golden Line, Greenline, Comfort, Rajdhani or BRTC buses directly to Kashiani Upazila of Gopalganj district. These AC/Non-AC buses will cost Tk 500-900 depending on the class. From Kashiani you can go to Madhumati Banwar by local transport near Paranpur haat.
