Nuhash Polli Nandan Kanan is located in Piruzali village at a distance of 25 km from Gazipur district headquarters. The current area of ​​Nuhash Palli is about 40 bighas. In 1987, Humayun Ahmed started realizing his dream on 22 bigha land. Nuhash village is named after Humayun’s son Nuhash. The touch and love of Humayun Ahmed, the magician of the story, is mixed in every establishment of Nuhash Palli. Humayun Ahmed has spent a lot of his life in Nuhash Palli besides shooting various dramas and movies. Being very close to Dhaka, Muhash Palli can be visited in one day with family or loved ones. After entering the Nuhash village, you will see the lush green forest on the left hand side. Humayun Ahmed, the magician of the story, is lying in the litchi garden on the left side of this desert. As soon as you proceed along the entrance of Nuhash Palli, you will see the local architect Asaduzzaman Khan’s sculpture called ‘A and Child’. Sculptures in the form of ghosts and frogs have been installed to entertain children. A curved swimming pool has been built next to it. Humayun Ahmed swam in this swimming pool with famous Indian writer Sunil Gangopadhyay. One can see Humayun Ahmed’s cottage, chess room and prayer place as one moves forward past the swimming pool. Next is the ‘Bristibilas’ cottage with its huge tin shed barampa. Humayun Ahmed used to watch rain and full moon while sitting on the terrace of this cottage. Just opposite is his famous tree house. Nuhash village has a medicinal plant garden, also with about 300 different species of plants. Behind the herb garden is a shooting spot made of tin and clay. And at the front of the garden there are statues of fish maidens and demons. Next to it is a statue of a dinosaur made of concrete. To the north of Nuhash Palli is Lilavati Dighi. An artificial island has been constructed in the middle of this lake which is connected by a wooden bridge. Next to the Lilavati Dighi there is a building called ‘Bhutabilas’. Also spending a day at the well-arranged Nuhash Palli will instantly make you feel the presence of poets in all the Nuhash Pallis.

Entrance fee to Nuhash Palli
No prior permission is required to enter Nuhash Palli. Anyone can enter with an entry fee of Tk 200. Children under 10, driver and car park are free. There is no entrance fee to visit Humayun Ahmed’s grave. Outside the main gate for grave pilgrimage, there is a separate gate for tombs to the left, one can enter through that gate to visit the grave.

How to go

To go to Nuhash Palli first you have to come to Hotapara bus stand in Gazipur. There are several bus services plying from Dhaka to Prabhati, Banashree etc. The bus fare from Dhaka to Hotapara will be Tk 50 to Tk 80 depending on the location. Nuhash Palli can be reached from Hotapara bus stand by tempo, rickshaw, Akhba CNG. Tempo fare will be 40 to 50 taka. Rickshaw fare will be 50 to 60 taka and CNG fare will be 120 to 150 taka. If you want, you can visit Nuhash Palli with your own car.
