Parsuram Palace is one of the monuments of the ancient civilization discovered in Shibganj Upazila of Bogra district on the border of Mahasthangarh. The location of this palace is 200 meters north of Mahakali Kund. The palace is named after Parashuram, the last Hindu king here and the sixth incarnation of Vishnu, known locally as the Palace of Hindu Slayer Pasuram. Originally from 750 to 1124 the Pala kings ruled the region. Separate archaeological excavations in 1907, 1961 and 1995 revealed the existence of 3 different construction periods at Khab. Besides, coins of East India Company, terracotta carved bricks, ruins of various buildings of Pala period, broken parts of Vishnu pot and pottery are also found from this place. And among the artifacts of the Sultanate period are terracotta plaques, fragments of Vishnu pots made of stone and cords. Further excavation later revealed an eighteenth-century dwelling. The main structure of Parashuram’s palace is the abode made of brick, lime, surki lining, lime mortar. Parashuram’s palace is divided into 4 parts: room, terrace, boundary wall, entrance. There is a well named “Jiyat Kund” next to the palace. It is said that during the war with Shah Sultan Balkhi Mahiswar, Parashuram could revive dead soldiers with the help of water from this well.
