In 1986, Pirgachha Rubber Garden was built in Pirgachha of Madhupur in Tangail district in harmony with the beautiful nature. There are about 1 lakh 54 thousand rubber trees spread over an area of 3 thousand acres. Anyone with short spare time can visit Pirgacha rubber plantation near Dhaka.
On a sunny day, the golden sun peeks through the green leaves of the tall trees in the Madhupur rubber garden, filling the surroundings with genuine beauty. This rubber garden is decorated with different decorations in different seasons and has numerous fruit and flower trees. And passing through the garden is a wide road leading to the garden office. Adjacent to the office is a half-baked “guest house” surrounded by colorful rice paddies and colorful flowering trees. The guest house offers the best view of the rubber plantation on a rainy or sunny day.
A huge rubber factory is located some distance from the rubber garden office. Here, white raw rubber is collected from rubber trees and made into large rubber sheets through process. And seeing the various processes of the factory with your own eyes is undoubtedly a great experience. Apart from this, in the middle and end of the Pirgacha rubber plantation, there is a settlement of Garo tribals and a habitat of various wild animals in Madhupur.
How to go
To visit Pirgacha rubber plantation, first come to Madhupur upazila of Tangail district. There is a direct bus from Dhaka to Madhupur from Mohakhali. Bus fare will be 200-300 taka. The distance from Madhupur to rubber garden is about 13 km. Rubber plantation can be reached from Madhupur bus stand by CNG or auto rickshaw. And to see the entire garden on a motorcycle will cost 300-600 taka per person.
