Palace of Queen Mainamati (Palace of Queen Mainamati) is located just 3 km away from Mainamati War Cemetery on the east side of the Comilla-Sylhet highway in Burichong Upazila of Comilla district. This palace was built in the 10th century for the comfort of Maynamati, the wife of the Chandra dynasty King Manik Chandra. This archeological monument of the Mainamati Union is believed to be an ancient feat of the 8th to 12th century.
The palace of Rani Mainamati is located on an isolated hilltop at a height of 15.24 meters above the plain at the northern end of the Lalmai-Mainamati hills covering an area of about 10 acres. According to the locals, there was a brush-shaped temple at the site, which was later renovated in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th centuries to build a progressively smaller east-facing temple. The palace was discovered in 1988 by excavating a tunnel 3 meters below ground level. Apart from this, 4 structures of the construction period, 510 feet in length and 500 feet in the volume of enclosure walls, terracotta plaques, valuable artifacts, and decorative bricks have been discovered here. Every year on the 7th Baisakh, a month-long Baisakhi fair is organized here for Sanatan religious people. Numerous visitors from far and wide flock to this fair.
