The Language Martyr Abul Barakat Memory Museum and Library was launched on March 25, 2012 with photographs of various events of the 1952 language movement, letters written to loved ones, photos of language martyrs, and various historical items. A portrait of Shaheed Abul Barkat has been installed in the premises of Shaheed Barkat Museum covered with green grass. On the ground floor of the two-storied museum building, Shaheed Barakat’s watches, letters, photographs, cup-perishes, language movement documentaries, Ekushey Padak are kept for display. And there is a library on the second floor. The library has collected more than five hundred books related to language movement and liberation war. Guides are arranged at the Shaheed Barkat Memorial Museum to acquaint the incoming visitors with various known and unknown topics. Besides, there is an opportunity to organize various competitions and exhibitions on special days. Shaheed Barkat Memorial Museum is open for all visitors from Sunday to Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm. And every Friday and Saturday the museum is closed.

Shaheed Barkat Memorial Museum located on the west side of Salimullah Muslim Hall of Dhaka University can be reached by rickshaw or CNG from Shahbagh, Gulisthan and Newmarket.
