Sitakunda Eco Park is located just 35 km from Chittagong city. Which is currently being considered as an extraordinary tourist spot. There are two indescribably beautiful springs called Sahasra Dhara and Suptadhara. Apart from this, Sitakunda Eco Park has numerous rare species of trees which are helpful in increasing knowledge about trees. There is Orchid House in the Botanical Garden, where about 50 types of orchids of different domestic and foreign species are preserved.
Hills, trees, wildlife, fountains, birdlife enrich the eco park. High mountains, various wild animals including monkeys, rabbits and Hanuman, there are Arjuna, Chapalish, Jarul, Tun, Telsur, Chundul and many other flowers, fruits and medicinal plants. The ecopark looks unearthly in the crimson glow of twilight at sunset.
When entering the eco park, a big display is seen, this display gives the idea about the eco park to all the tourists who come to the eco park. 80/- to enter Eco Park with CNG.
How to go
From Dhaka by Bus: S.Alam, Saudia, Greenline, Silk Line, Sohag, Bagdad Express, Unique etc. various AC, Non-AC buses depart from Syedabad Bus Station for Chittagong. All buses stop at Sitakunda as required. If you come from Dhaka by bus, you will reach Sitakunda Eco Park through a place called Fakirhat, 2 km away from Sitakunda bus stop.
From Chittagong: Buses to Sitakunda leave from Madarbari and Kadmatoli bus stations in Chittagong. Apart from this, you can go to Fakirhat in Sitakunda by Mexi from Alankar.
From Dhaka by Rail: Dhaka mail train from Dhaka stops only at Sitakunda railway station. The train started from Dhaka at 11 pm and reached Sitakunda between 6 am and 7 am the next day. If you want to come by other inter-city trains, you have to get down at Feni station. By train, the fare will be Tk 250-1035 per seat. From there you can go to Mohipal bus stand for 20/30 taka auto/rickshaw fare and go to Sitakunda by local bus for 80-100 taka.
You can hire CNG for the whole day from Sitakunda. In that case it may cost 1200 to 1500 taka. But if you want you can walk around the park but it will take more time. If you can save time, you can easily see the Jharna and Jhiri trails of Sitakunda and Mirsrai area.
